She would be appalled and the disgraceful conduct of the Republican lawmakers. It’s as if we are living in a Bizarro world where everyone’s worst self is unleashed without boundaries. I think life changed drastically for the worse in June 2015 when felon Donald Trump , who I view as an evil genius declared he would become a Presidential nominee.
I say he is an evil genius because he was able to remember among all the people he met those most lacking in conscience and most mal educado.
My late mother-in -law an incredible woman who raised15 children of her own in a war and fostered 3 more.
She and my father -in -law made all the children learn to do difficult tasks like peasants and to study hard and play an instrument.
They were incredibly disciplined. My mother-in -law watched President Bush before the invasion of Iraq on TV and said that man wants soldiers.
Although she did not understand what exactly President Bush was saying, she knew he was starting a war. She was amazing. I had lots of fun with her perhaps because of our language barrier.
We communicated through translators and sign language and games .
I would be interested to hear what my father -in -law thought .He was a highly successful and wealthy rice dealer who lost everything during the war and adjusted . The entire family was so resilient.
My mother -in -law was truly devout. I would be interested in their views. My husband would be appalled.
I hope some of you read America Amerika, the new history book.
I would love to read opinions from people with a Spanish heritage .

I have visited Cuba several times well over a decade ago while my late husband was still alive. We found it beautiful.
My late husband, Dr.Châu Nguyên was a specialist in infectious disease and microbiology. His mother was a relative of Cardinal Nguyên and equally devote.
Chǎu was Vietnamese. He fled with seven siblings on the deck of a Korean warship one day before the fall of Saigon to the Viet Cong.
He died August 18 2014 We believe his 2 cancers were triggered by exposure during the war in Vietnam to Agent Orange.
Although I miss Chau terribly part of me feels that he is hopefully in a much better place. I think the pandemic and the rise of criminal Donald Trump would horrify him.
We had such respect for the NIH. Although we lived in Canada, Chau loved the US and has family there.
Chau was extremely courteous and collegial. He would be appalled by what is happening now.
I am appalled by this vindictive attack on Dr.Faucci. He would not be my favourite NIH Director. I find him a tad arrogant.
I certainly do not think that anyone should be spoken to like Dr.Faucci has been.
I have nothing against Dr Faucci. He is just not my favourite. I like the way Dr.Gabor Mate speaks. I believe compassion and humility along with excellent judgement are characteristics of good physicians.
“Mal educado” is also used in both European and Brazilian Portuguese, and as in Spanish, is considered the worst of insults, describing someone who is not merely rude but uncouth. I don’t think that there’s an equivalent in English.
Because Dr. Fauci would not play the corrupt maga game he took the 5th several times. Now Trump wants him prosecuted for invoking the 5th amendment. When Trump went through the investigation into his impeachment and fraud charges he took the 5th 455 times. When asked yesterday about the total inequity he used his latest catch phrase "You're not me."

My Great Grandmother, a stout Irish Catholic woman who raised 5 kids in the San Luis Valley area of Colorado during the depression was fond of warning us the those who lay down with dogs will wake up with fleas. That's exactly what men like Moreno have demonstrated and, I believe, why it feels like the Senate is slipping into a Jerry Springer episode.

And regarding Dr. Fauci, he remains a personal hero of mine— he made me proud to belong to the same profession as him. I remember, as an M.D., reading about the “Fauci effect,” a bump in applications to medical school in the early years during and after Covid. And I wonder whether some of those young adults have changed their minds, having since seen how healthcare workers — with Dr. Fauci chief among them and symbolic of all of us— were abused individually and collectively because of the people who were then, and now, in power.
